A special lecture entitled "Surveillance After Snowden," presented 3-10-2014 at MIT by David Lyon, Professor and Chair of Surveillance Studies at Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario). This was the annual Arthur Miller Lecture, sponsored by Miller's surviving family along with MIT's Program in Science, Technology, and Society (web.mit.edu/sts).
Professor Lyon points out that surveillance has been around in various forms since the mid-19th century. He expresses gratitude to Snowden for igniting discussion and debate over the U.S. and Canadian governments' current programs.
We have divided our recording into four parts for the convenience of radio broadcasters, numbered in sequence. The first three parts together will fit into a one-hour broadcast slot. Greeting and Intro are separated to accommodate broadcasters bound to a 55-minute limit.
