Phil asks Yves Engler, author of the article "Media ignores explosive revelations about chemical weapons in Syria," why the mainstream media in Canada has completely ignored the collapsing official narrative that the Syrian government was responsible for an alleged chemical incident at Douma, Syria, April 7 2018.
Phil notes that Justin Trudeau at first called for an investigation to assign blame for the incident. Chrystia Freeland, however, immediately pinned the blame on Syria and Trudeau soon followed suit. Over 100 cruise missiles were launched at Syria on April 14, 2018 before any investigation took place.
Engler explains that the Canadian government has recently contributed monetarily to the OPCW, just as it gives voluntary contributions to the OAS and the UN Human Rights Council. These organizations are corrupted by these sizeable donations.
Tareq Haddad resigned from Newsweek because it refused to cover the whistleblower revelations from the OPCW over its questionable report on Douma.
Engler notes that in journalism school, students are taught to seek the truth. In practice, however, Canadian journalists of foreign affairs very quickly learn to parrot the media releases of Global Affairs Canada. Engler also reveals that the Canadian government funds Halal Systems, an early warning system designed to protect the US Coalition's proxy warriors in Syria from air attack, such as in Idlib. Vanessa Beely, he says, shows the White Helmets are the main operators of Halal Systems.
