The older archives (>10 years old) have been substantially recovered -- more than 23,800 files' worth -- and are now reachable through the search engine and via file download. Email here if you have any questions.
Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

New Roots Radio
http://www.newrootsradio.com/
New Roots Radio was founded in June 2010 in the belief that talking about our differences, candidly, passionately and even humorously, is the best way to create healthy diversity. It was begun by a group of volunteers as a way to promote conversations among cultures, to shine a light on the life of the newcomer, and bring foreign perspectives on migration into the province. We throw our studio doors open to anyone who would like to share their culture or their experiences with cultural difference. New Roots Radio is also an experiment in community journalism, a training ground for the journalism of everyday life. Many of us are non-journalists. We train each other, and even find ourselves learning the art of reporting alongside our interviewees. Without the funds to travel, we make creative use of communication technology to bring you audio rich stories from around the world. In some sense, New Roots Radio is not only a source of stories, it is a journey, much like the journey of those who leave their homes to start a new life in Nova Scotia.
